At the International Toy Fair in New York in February 1999, LEGO and Lucasfilm announced LEGO Star Wars to the invited press and produced products in time for the release of Episode I in May 1999.
As the first licensed theme, it paved the way for every other collaboration, from Harry Potter to Minecraft to Voltron.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the LEGO Star Wars theme, Star Wars has announced the exclusives for Star Wars Celebration 2019 at Chicago and there will be a LEGO Darth Vader Bust (75227) coming soon.
A limited quantity of this set will be made available through Target REDcard (US) beginning 4/11. No idea if it will ever come to Australia (sob…sob….) but I’m sure it will turn up on eBay at a marked up price!
